December has turned out to be a whirlwind of a month - one filled with hearings and other court deadlines. My son has consistently been with me as I have prepared for my hearings, and I can't think of anyone whom I would rather have as my study companion. As I gather my robes and papers, his eyes follow my every movement. As I get ready to step out the door, he determinedly climbs into his pram, clearly hoping that I will take him with me. It is a fleeting yet tender moment; one that inspires me as I step into the courtroom to fight to reunite families as an immigration barrister. I see his eyes full of trust and anticipation, and it reminds me that the work we do as immigration professionals matters. We aren't simply chasing justice; we are building it, brick by brick.
